Simple Summer Skin Savers~

The temperature is heating up and summer sun is on the way! While I love a good tan as much as the next person (and probably more than most), it’s important to think of the consequences of all that relaxing sun time and your gorgeous summer glow.  I tell people all the time, proactive care for your skin is less expensive and less painful than reacting once you start to see the signs of aging and neglect on your face. Sun can wreak havoc on your anti-aging routine, but a little sunscreen and moisturizer everyday can help you steer clear from injections on another day.  I don’t know about you, but I love this quote from Dr. Christiane Northrup-“getting older is inevitable, aging is optional”. I am currently opting no thank you to aging ;-)

Great Skincare…the first step to complexion perfection!

beautiful skinGiven my background in the beauty industry (I created dana L Skincare & Cosmetics in 2007 and worked as a makeup artist for a national morning show during the Balance Your Life Road Tour), people often ask me beauty related questions.  What moisturizer should I use? What color blush should I wear? How can I get my eye brows to look like that?  So by request, at least one post a month will focus on a beauty topic. If there is something in particular you would like to know or read about, please let me know! My goal is to answer your specific questions!

The beginning of the year is also a great time to start a skincare routine (if you haven’t already) and winter is notoriously a difficult time of year for our skin.  Great skincare is always the first step to complexion perfection, so it only makes sense to start there!great_skincare_the_first_step_to_complexion_perfection-680424

Welcome to Get Flossy!

_1780338219Why write a blog? What in the world are you going to write about? Will anyone care? Will anyone read it? Those are just a few of the questions that popped in and out, and in and out of my head when I contemplated beginning this journey with all of you.  Sure, I could find something to share with you, but would it be helpful, informative, funny or enjoyable? Who knew?  I thought about a valuable lesson my mother taught me very early on in life…sometimes you just have to close your eyes and go!  And with that in mind, welcome to Get Flossy!
